News & Reports

Europa Productions produces news and topical feature reports for TV and radio broadcasters world-wide. Here is a small sample of some of our work.

Bestiale! Animal Film Stars

A report on the exhibition Bestiale! Animal Film Stars at the Italian National Cinema Museum in the Mole Antonelliana in Turin. Interviews with Hollywood Hoofbeats author and daughter of Robert Mitchum, Petrine Day Mitchum; Animatronics wizard and Special effects Oscar winner (Babe) John Cox, the movie journalist and founder of the Palm Dog Awards Toby Rose and event co-curators Donata Pesenti Compagnoni and Davide Ferrario. Mark Dezzani reports.

Claude Monet on the Italian Riviera

In 1884, the French Impressionist painter Claude Monet spent 3 months in Bordighera on the Italian Riviera. For the first time since then, some of the work that he made during his sojourn is being exhibited at the Villa Regina Margerita in Bordighera and the Castello dei Doria in Dolceacqua. The exhibition is called Claude Monet - Ritorno In Riviera. We interview two of the exhibition curators, Aldo Herlaut and Silvia Alborno, and locally based artist Linda McCluskey about the show and the challenges that Monet faced whilst working in the region.

Bussana Vecchia - BBC World Report

Our first BBC TV report by correspondent Mark Dezzani was aired on BBC World on the Europe Direct and Art Express programmes. The International artists community in the Italian village of Bussana Vecchia, in the north-western region of Liguria near to San Remo, was established in 1959. The village had been abandoned following an earthquake in 1887 that killed 57 of the village's 800 residents. Since 1979 the residents have been fighting a legal battle with the Italian authorities that want to evict them.

Monaco Yacht Show

One of a series of annual reports from the Monaco Yacht Show with former BBC Correspondent Andrew Burroughs. The 21st Monaco Yacht Show was a tale of two recessions. The super rich continue to commission superyachts of 50 metres and more, whilst there are fire sales for second hand smaller yachts that have flooded the market. Meanwhile, the regulators are catching up with this offshore business, with new laws regulating crew and safety conditions.

Clean Equity Monaco

After the failure of the Copenhagen Summit to reach a definitive diplomatic agreement on cutting CO2 emissions, CleanEquity Monaco proposed a market based solution by putting cleantech entrepreneurs, venture capitalists and environmental lobbyists together in the Principality's Sporting d'Hiver venue. In the ultimate Dragon's Den, with the future of the planet at stake, green dreamers were confronted with the reality of the market-place. If there is a profit to be made from the greening of industry and technology, then maybe we can turn the corner. But do we only have five years in which to make the ultimate return on our investment? RivieraLife.tv's Andrew Burroughs reports.
